New in 23.09.1/2/3

These updates add:

  • Count-ins for Presets
  • a flashing play button to the Tempo Entry
  • the option to print the song key on setlists
  • in-app notifications about certain messages (like Q&A invitations)

Count-ins for Presets

A long-requested feature has been to add a count in option to Presets. I realise a lot of people need time to get to their instrument after pushing play. This update adds that possibility via Preferences -> Auto Count In Settings.

The PRESET COUNT-IN option at the top is a global setting that will apply to all Presets. It will give you your chosen number of bars of voice count in with a visual display before the preset starts.

Please note, this count-in won't be applied when using a Playlist.

In a Playlist, if you desire a count-in, tap the ... on the right of the item and choose "Add Count-In".  This count in will be customisable and skippable (so on a repeat of the Playlist you don't need to hear the count in)

If you have many items in a Playlist and you wish to focus on a single one, you can tap the rep or timer controls on the sequencer page (which will be red when using a Playlist) and Playlist mode will be disabled. The Preset Count-In will then be enabled, and you can work on that Preset (change tempo, reps, etc) without it affecting the Playlist settings. When you're done, simply tap the item in the Playlist again to load it and re-enable the Playlist.

Flashing Play Button

Let's say you want to use PolyNome as a super-simple metronome. You can lock the Tempo Entry screen using the padlock button and then you simply have a tempo keypad and play button. Watch the video to see it in action:

Song Key on Printed Setlists

If you've used the Song Lookup feature (Add->Song Lookup) to create a click for a song, it will also have saved the song key.

You can now have this included on the printed PDF by turning on Preferences -> Playlist PDF settings -> Show Key.

To print a Playlist, tap on the Playlist name and choose PDF of Playlist from the menu.

In-App Notifications

So you don't miss important Inbox messages like Q&A invitations, or updates, there's a new notification that will appear at the top of the app and disappear after 10 seconds (or you can swipe it away). If you see one of these, it means you have messages in the PolyNome Inbox.

That's all for this update.

If you love PolyNome and have a moment to leave a review or rating on the App Store, they help immensely.

If you have any unanswered questions, don't hesitate to get in touch at support@polynome.net

Thanks for using PolyNome!
